Does it seem as strange to you as it does to me that we only celebrate Thanksgiving once a year? I mean there are so many things to be thankful for every day, all day long…
The Thanksgiving Day holiday is a time to acknowledge all that you are thankful for. The tradition is to gather together with friends and family to share some words of thanks together as a group. How have your Thanksgiving Days been lately? Have you gathered for a feast? Has anyone spoken up about what they are most thankful for? Has it become just another day to eat a lot of food and watch football?
As your Creativity Coach, I urge you to celebrate the holiday this year with the intention of expressing your gratitude. Whether it is in the form of making a public declaration at the dinner table or just expressing your thanks on the phone to a far away friend, get that gratitude energy out in the world! Say it, believe it, and watch it come back to you in the form of abundance. Gratitude has that power. It is a very powerful energetic force, and if you are smart, you will not save it up for one day a year. You will tap into that magic by expressing your gratitude at every possible opportunity.
If you need something to get you going start a gratitude jar. Every time you have a thought of gratitude write it down on a little scrap of paper and put it in your jar. You’ll be surprised how the momentum of this activity will build on itself. The more you express what you are grateful for, the more you will discover things about your life to be grateful for. It’s like suddenly putting on a pair of magical rose-colored glasses or something.
This is my Gratitude Jar. It’s a pretty simple creation. When it fills up, I just empty it and start over. Your thoughts are powerful things. Having thoughts of gratitude and appreciation are necessary for living a vitalized creative life. When you can express your thoughts of gratitude by bringing them into the physical world through your creative words, in the form of verbal acknowledgements to others or written letters of appreciation, the power of those thoughts of gratitude start to transform the lives of others. The more you engage with these thoughts and express them, the more you will notice a positive difference in the general energy field that surrounds you and your relationships.
I am so grateful for you, right now.
