“My Playbook: A Daily Practice Of Recording My Divinely Guided Magical Life” is one of my favorite secret weapons for living a creative life.
As an empathic creative, I am constantly bombarded with ideas, inspirations and messages from spirit. I used to have a day planner, several spiral journals, a sketchbook, and about a million post it notes floating around my house and work space. It was maddening trying to keep everything straight. I had no single resource to turn to to really measure my progress and reflect on where I had come from and where I was going with an idea or project. One day, I decided to try designing my own journal with prompts to keep me in alignment with my highest intentions. If I was to coach myself through this game of life, I was going to need a Playbook. I’ve been working with one now for over a year and I can honestly say, that I would never go without one again.

This perfect bound playbook has become a record of not only my professional endeavors, but my entire life! It accompanies me on vacations, to doctor’s offices and anywhere else I might have time to write or draw in it. At the end of the year, I have this amazing and quite beautiful book of my life as it has all unfolded, the good the bad, and the ugly. It’s a complete journal of my evolution as a person over one annual cycle. It also helps me manage my time and keeps me on task, but in a flexible way, which I require as a person who doesn’t like to be boxed into formats and routines.
If you are like me and need a place to write all of your ideas, inspirations, and messages every day, you might enjoy a copy of this Playbook. It’s a planner for creative people. If you use it, it will reveal to you your evolution over an entire year. Each day there is a place to write your thoughts and track your journey. There are even generous spaces for drawing, because sometimes words just can’t express something like an illustration can.
Here’s a few samples from my own copy so you can see how I use it. There is half a page for documenting your experiences every day. The 12 calendar pages are blank templates so you can fill them in how ever you want to record your thirty day cycles. I’ve been using the Zodiac calendar during my annual cycle. Every ten days there is a full page review with questions to answer and spaces for personal reflection. Each quarter there is an additional review, as well as a half-year re-evaluation. (See more sample pages in my video…)
This Playbook design is a work in progress, much like I am, so let me know if you are using it and what your experience of it is. I am curious to know what you like about it and what you think would make it better. In the mean time, I invite you to pick up a copy, brew a pot of coffee or tea, and join me in the daily ritual of writing in your Playbook.
