Stay Connected

Being on “lockdown” might not be all that bad for some people, like me. I’m used to spending long hours working alone, but for some people this is a fate worse than prison. As we all grapple with where this global situation leads us, it is essential we stay connected with others and with spirit.

We are all in this together and we are stronger than we realize. In a meditation I received this prayer which has become my mantra:

May our bodies be fortified with boosted immunity, may our minds be filled with positive thoughts, and may our hearts be overflowing with generosity and compassion as we courageously walk into the future with dignity.

Sending love and hoping you are well.

Start your own PLAYBOOK!

My Playbook: A Daily Practice Of Recording My Divinely Guided Magical Life” is one of my favorite secret weapons for living a creative life.

Now is a great time to start a creative project of your own. If you’re not sure where to start, try getting one of these playbooks. Each day you can write and draw in it until you figure out what you want to create. Once you’re into a project, you can use it to monitor your progress. I’ve been using one for three years and now I’d be lost without it. (read more…)

Sea Slug

An exploration in drawing cute monsters brought me to this sea slug.

Hoping we all find a little buoyancy this week.

A new 2020 cover for the Playbook!

My Playbook: A Daily Practice Of Recording My Divinely Guided Magical Life” is one of my favorite secret weapons for living a creative life.

As an empathic creative, I am constantly bombarded with ideas, inspirations and messages from spirit. I used to have a day planner, several spiral journals, a sketchbook, and about a million post it notes floating around my house and work space. It was maddening trying to keep everything straight. I had no single resource to turn to to really measure my progress and reflect on where I had come from and where I was going with an idea or project. One day, I decided to try… (read more…)

Wild & Free

This is what it feels like to finish cancer treatment! I did it. I survived. I am humbled and ultimately a better person because of it. And, yes, it sucked. I am still a little angry about the whole thing, actually, but just a little bit, deep down where I hardly notice it anymore.

Now is where the fun part begins. I get to live again. I might not be base jumping any time soon, but I’ve started moving my body fast enough to feel my heart-beat again. This is a quality of life improvement that I am ready to fully embrace.

Reading and Writing

As a writer I find it embarrassing that I was never an avid reader as a kid. I was much more interested in going outside. It didn’t really matter what I was doing, as long as it was outside. Mostly, I wandered. I looked at things, smelled flowers, tried to talk to the birds, and when I felt really brave, I would lift up a rock and see what I might find hiding underneath. I didn’t really become a recreational reader until I graduated from college.

The World

IMG_4460

My theme for October is “The World.” I have been around the world several times. I’ve clocked in some significant mileage. Trust me, the WORLD is BIG. I’ve been thinking about how small my personal world feels compared to the BIG WORLD. I have chosen to make my world small. I love my personal world so much. I would do anything to protect it. If it weren’t for my soul’s constant urge to evolve, I might just stay in my little beautiful world forever. So, once again, I take a deep breath and choose to step out of my comfort zone and share a little piece of my personal world with the great BIG WORLD, in the only way I feel authentically called to do, through my art and encouragements.

“You make me start when you look into my heart
And see me for who I really am.

If you can’t change the world. Change yourself.”
– The The , Lonely Planet

May your world be the perfect size for your soul’s evolution.

Love,

Bonnie

I was just wondering what to put in the frame when my cat returned proudly from the hunt.

Sending love to you and all the fearless warriors out there,

Shine on you crazy diamond!

IMG_4614

This diamond goddess has been showing up for me lately in a lot of ways. It’s like she wants me to make a wish and I have to say it’s been a little intimidating. I’ve always been really careful about wishes, because I always get what I wish for. It’s just sometimes I get a lot of other stuff along with the wish that I didn’t really want or think about as being part of my wish coming true.

What would you wish for right now? Are you prepared for your wish to come true? What else might be bundled in with the granting of this wish? Do you still wish for it anyway?

“Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!”  – Pink Floyd (Gilmour/Wright/Waters)

Shine on you crazy diamonds!

Love,

Bonnie

Strength

strength

Strength is the tree that can bend in the storm without breaking. This image from my sketchbook and includes an art card featuring the painting “Tiger in a Tropical Storm” by Henri Rousseau. It’s hard to tell if the tiger is frightening or frightened. I like that about the painting. Sometimes we are both in the face of fear when we are trying to summon our own courage.

I wish you the strength of a tree and the courage of a tiger, or the strength of a tiger and the courage of a tree to help you through whatever it may be that is challenging you right now.

Love,

Bonnie
