Started my day today watching an episode of Bob Ross and following some of his advice as I created my own version of “Happy Little Trees.” What an inspiration he was. Such a lovely person. He always says, “don’t copy me, make it your own. Make the place you want to go to.” I feel like I’ve been there all day, even while I’m roaming around in my urban desert home. I’m still there among those happy little trees. Magic. Thank you, Bob!
May your day be filled with happy trees of any size.

I always feel that I have so much to be grateful for. I really do, even when things are not so awesome. Gratitude is what has kept me going over the years. It’s what keeps me connected to spirit and source.
I was recently gratitude-gifted with a beautiful smoky citrine generator crystal. Isn’t it just gorgeous? (note: buy crystals from nice people) This act of gratitude compelled me to start igniting my new character, Artemis. I’m getting amazing results already. So much inspiration is starting to pour in, it’s hard to keep up with it all.
So on this full moon Thanksgiving, I’ve set up a little altar by my workspace. I even created my own little 3D Artemis out of sculpey. She’s got her magician’s cloak on and we’re ready to make some serious children’s book magic. In addition to the altar, I’ve got a moon calendar starting tonight. So, this cycle will go from full moon to the winter solstice.
I made a wish last night under the New Moon. It was a wish for help in manifesting my next children’s book. This one I wish to be even better than the last. That’s how I push myself, that’s how I grow and get better at this creative life thing. I’m not doing it alone this time. I’m reaching out for help. It feels good to ask for help, not something that has ever come naturally to me. It’s humbling and awesome and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
May you whole heartedly engage in the reverent ritual of creative manifestation.

I just finished up this guy: Thoth, the ancient Egyptian God of Writing, Wisdom, Magic, and the Moon. I was first introduced to him back in the 90s when I was in Egypt. My favorite form of his is the baboon, though I may try drawing him as the Ibis-headed man next. Feel free to share this image on your social media. Spread some Thoth love. Feel into some Thoth energy today. If a nugget of inspiration comes your way, be sure to write it down. If you can’t find the words, then doodle it out. Think of it as a gift from Thoth.

Happy Halloween! … and (even better) Happy National Magic Day!
The concept of magic is as old as the history of human civilization. The kind of magic I am talking about is not about deception and illusions, but rather physical and energetic influence. Those who practiced such magic in ancient cultures were the shamans, healers, and energy workers of their time. They did not separate the experience of miracles into ritual, medicine, and prayer. All components were tied into one holistic treatment in order to achieve a specific result. Each part mattered and no part was dismissed as irrelevant. This combination of intentions and actions is what manifested the desired effect. Magic is the experience as a whole, from the beginning intention to the end result.
So how do we channel this sort magic into our modern lives? It starts with inviting in divine inspired thought. The delivery device is sometimes referred to as your muse, a mystical entity that helps create connections between the divine and physical realms in the form of inspired thoughts. Your muse is your right hand middle-man and spiritual guide. When you connect with your muse, divinely inspired thoughts are delivered to the physical world through you, the creator. At this point, you have the choice to act on these thoughts or not. This is known as the law of free will. Continue reading →
