Friday = Art

When an animal appears in your life, whether through images, stories, dreams, or in the flesh, and you suddenly take notice of it, there may be a personal message being delivered. Last week I taught another Animal Totem Workshop. Each time I facilitate this class, a new Continue reading

I call this one “Maui Sun Gazing.” Yes, I was staring at the sunrise on Maui from a sacred music temple on the North Shore. Some experiences just cannot be captured with standard photographic technology. Hope you like it! Continue reading

Express Yourself (It’s good for you!)

gowth

Yes, I am a Mom. I am also a Creativity Coach which means I can’t help but want to nurture your creative life. As much as you hate to admit it, your Mom was right about a few things.

Mom: Eat your                (insert detested vegetable of choice here)           .

You: Why?

Mom: Because, it’s good for you.

Sound familiar? In this situation, I am the Mom. I am telling you, you need to express yourself, right here, right now. If you don’t… Continue reading

SpiritOfTheForestSM.jpg

I saw this image after I woke up from an intense dream. The dream was unrelated, but as I was recreating this image in real time, I realized it was linked to a memory of hiking in New Zealand. The forests there are quite magical and full of sprites and faeries. I was hiking along such a trail in the woods not far from the Franz Josef Glacier when I saw a creature that I could not describe. It was no ordinary deer, but a creature like that you might encounter Continue reading

Kelso-Thoth.jpg

I just finished up this guy: Thoth, the ancient Egyptian God of Writing, Wisdom, Magic, and the Moon. I was first introduced to him back in the 90s when I was in Egypt. My favorite form of his is the baboon, though I may try drawing him as the Ibis-headed man next. Feel free to share this image on your social media. Spread some Thoth love. Feel into some Thoth energy today. If a nugget of inspiration comes your way, be sure to write it down. If you can’t find the words, then doodle it out. Think of it as a gift from Thoth.

What Makes You Feel Mighty?

warrior

I am mighty, like a warrior. Maybe not the sort of warrior that first comes to mind. My sword is not fashioned from earthly metal. My sword is of the mental universe. I use it with love and compassion as it slices through apathy and false beliefs. My shield is not for deflecting arrows or bullets. Although it is invisible, it is stronger than Continue reading

Every Crumb Is Special

Looking at my plate,
there are a dozen crumbs staring back up at me.
With every bite
another cluster of crumbs falls.
Each one a unique experience.
Each one with a story to tell. Continue reading

Creating Choices: Fluid and Finite

FullSizeRender (1)

Every day you make choices. Sometimes these choices are temporary and fluid in nature. They don’t have the same weight of a choice that is finite. You may not even realize how finite a choice is until you begin to see the consequences of it arrive on your doorstep.

One after another, these consequences will show themselves and remind you of your Continue reading

Creating Your Coloring Book

©Bonnie Kelso and Creating Your Experience

I’m not going to lie to you. I have a natural repulsion to Adult Coloring Books. This is precisely why I chose to create one. I wanted to truly come to terms with why I didn’t like them by creating one that I could love.

Top 3 reasons I don’t like Adult Coloring Books:

  1. They do not engage your creative mind.
  2. They do not encourage you to think outside the box (or even color outside the lines).
  3. They waste your precious creating time.

This is what I see when I watch people coloring: They are focused on staying in the lines. They suffer over the decisions of which space should be colored which color. They are obsessed with Continue reading
