Every day you make choices. Sometimes these choices are temporary and fluid in nature. They don’t have the same weight of a choice that is finite. You may not even realize how finite a choice is until you begin to see the consequences of it arrive on your doorstep.
One after another, these consequences will show themselves and remind you of your “finite” decision. They will show you your own stubborn nature or test your resolve. You may not realize it, but when they show up, you are given another choice: to stick to your guns… or demonstrate that you still have power over you choices, no matter how finite they may have seemed originally. Finality is only an illusion. You can always still choose the fluid over the finite.
I heard something the other day that really rang true in my own heart:
Because of your free will you always have the choice to walk away from anything in your life.
Forgiving others requires you to forgive yourself as well for choices you’ve made no matter how insignificant they may have seemed at the time. When you keep seeing consequences arrive in your life that you find unfavorable, look to forgiveness as a way to break through the barriers of the finite and move towards the flow.
Remember the good things that drew you towards one choice over another. Reflect on all the ways you have grown. Celebrate the wisdom you’ve gained in having taken the road less traveled. Then, without finality, choose again. Choose the path the flow of your heart wants to go in.
