Mapping The Nines

Happy New Moon! This is a special New Moon, because it is the last one in 2016, ever! This means we are given an opportunity to set a powerful new intention for not only the next lunar cycle, but also the next year and the next nine-year cycle. No pressure, right?

Recently, I’ve been exploring my past nine-year cycles. I put it in writing, too. There is an undeniable spiritual shift that occurs when you write stuff down. Suddenly thoughts will begin to creep their way into the real world. I started this exercise by writing each year 2008 – 2016. Then I wrote as much as I could remember of what happened in each year—places I went, adventures I had, people who I relied on for support, and feelings I felt. After I wrote a few sentences for each entry, I chose a theme that summed up the feeling of the year for me. For example, in 2009 I struggled with infertility issues. Creating Breakthroughs

Isn’t this the most beautiful thing you’ve seen all day? I think it is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen all year. This little doodle was drawn last week by a reluctant student of mine named Nathan. Nathan confessed to me later that it was the first thing he had drawn in over 25 years. Before that moment, 25 years ago, when he had decided not to trust his creative self anymore, he had been an accomplished artist. He was a prolific painter and portrait artist. At the same time he had also slowly been allowing his addiction to drugs and alcohol ravage his life. His addictions finally won the battle, and he had convinced himself that he would never be able to create again.

What Inspires You?

What inspires you? What is it that gets you all excited about starting a new project or creating something in your life? Can you narrow it down to a few words? Inspiration comes from so many sources. It is all around you! If you could just open your eyes and see it, you would know that inspiration is everywhere and in every thing.

Some of you may know that I’ve been holding Creating Workshops at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission this past year. Working with the clients in addiction recovery there has been one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences of my life and I just wanted to tell you a little more about it.

Every day, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission feeds 1,000 people who are either homeless or in need. People begin to line up at the doors of the cafeteria hours before they open. Everyone who comes is fed, some only stay for a meal, but others stay to rebuild their shattered lives. There are almost 200 people Continue reading →

  • Checking in with your intentions every few days.
  • Staying open to opportunities that will help to manifest them.

It’s a powerful practice and one that can be used in so many areas of your life. Your increasing mindfulness bringing life and vitality to your creations and your day to day experiences. Ahhhhhhh!

MoonWhew! How was that Full Moon, people? Anything unexpected happen? Personally, I felt a little overwhelmed by it. I took a few naps, slept extra deeply at night, and woke up with some serious bed-head on more than one occasion. How about you? What was your reveal? It’s a super hot day, yeah, like Vegas hot! Ever feel it? It’s like stepping into an oven. You look into the sky for signs of relief, and there’s a huge cloud overhead. Suddenly, the sky opens up and it starts to rain, gently at first. The raindrops first feel warm on your skin, then as they increase in number, they feel cool and refreshing. Before you realize it, your internal thermometer has dropped ten degrees and all is right with the world again. You’re smiling, your energy is back, and you’re ready to indulge in your next creation…

Your Creativity & The Moon Cycles (Part 2: The Crescent Moon)

How did it go? How was your Solar Eclipse/New Moon Reset Party? Did you come up with a good juicy intention? What are you going to create in your life?

There’s always a lot of energy swirling around during the New Moon. Sometimes it’s best to just surrender to it and go with the flow of it and just see what comes out of it all. About a dozen years ago, I went to a New Moon Party in Koh Samui, Thailand. It was a big outdoor rave in the jungle. It was super dark, but all the makeshift huts were painted with glow-in-the-dark neon colors. The whole place was lit up with black lights. The music was naturally quite loud, and I was surprisingly sober. But I could feel the collective energy there and it was intense! It was a really good time, like I could see the love energy pulsing inside of everyone there. I remember dancing… a lot! I remember connecting with strangers… many hugs and holding hands and giggles and butterfly kissing one boy for perhaps fifteen minutes or so… Continue reading →
